Amber, oud, resins, tobacco, vanilla and dark woods evaporate slowly, so scents built around them cling to skin for hours and to clothing for far longer. How we chose
We won't publish lab timings we haven't measured, so here is the honest method. We ranked by base-note structure, by the well-documented staying power of the fragrances each of ours is inspired by, and by our own experience wearing them across a full day. Longevity always varies with skin type, weather and how much you apply, so treat this as a strong starting point rather than a stopwatch. Every scent here is a full-strength Eau de Parfum, not a lighter Eau de Toilette.

How to make them last even longer
- Apply to moisturised skin. Fragrance grips hydrated skin far better than dry skin.
- Spray pulse points — wrists, neck, inner elbows — where warmth pushes the scent out through the day.
- Don't rub your wrists together; it crushes the top notes.
- Layer where you can. A matching shower gel or body balm under your scent adds hours.
- Spritz clothing and hair (lightly) as well as skin — fabric holds scent longest, which is why the heaviest picks above linger for days.
